New Delhi: While Samsung is highly expected to show off its new Galaxy Note smartphone on September 4, a new report from Bloomberg
claims that the South Korean giant will also unveil its long-rumoured
smart watch, unofficially dubbed 'Galaxy Gear', at the September 4 event.
Citing two people familiar with the matter, the report says that the can
make phone calls, surf the Web and handle e-mails. The Galaxy Gear
smartwatch will be powered by Google's Android OS and is likely to go on
sale this year.
Electronics
has already applied for US and South Korean trademarks for a watch that
connects to the Internet in the latest sign that consumer technology
companies see wearable devices as the future of their business.[via]
